Republican Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie took a swipe at Vice President JD Vance in a Tuesday afternoon X post, expanding what was already a verbal battle between him and President Donald Trump.
Massie responded to Vance after the Vice President tweeted, “I wonder if other VPs had as much excitement as I do.”
“Ask Mike Pence about his last month,” Massie replied, likely referring to when Trump supporters chanted “hang Mike Pence” during the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021.
Ask Mike Pence about his last month.

The quip extends Massie’s verbal jousting with the White House to Vance after he sparred with Trump on X over differences in opinion on the U.S. bombing Iranian nuclear sites. (RELATED: Thomas Massie Pushes Back On AOC’s Trump Impeachment Call Despite Opposing Iran Bombings)
Following Trump’s Saturday night announcement that the U.S. carried out the bombings, Massie called the decision unconstitutional.

He also reiterated calls for Congress to vote on the War Powers Resolution he introduced June 17, which would block “United States Armed Forces from unauthorized hostilities in the Islamic Republic of Iran,” according to a press release.
He spent Sunday morning urging lawmakers to vote yes on it.

In response, Trump issued a scathing rebuke of Massie on Truth Social, claiming he’s “not MAGA.” Trump also said he would campaign for Massie’s opponent in the Republican primary.
“Actually, MAGA doesn’t want him, doesn’t know him, and doesn’t respect him,” Trump wrote.
“He’s a simple minded ‘grandstander’ who thinks it’s good politics for Iran to have the highest level Nuclear weapon, while at the same time yelling ‘DEATH TO AMERICA’ at every chance they get,” Trump added.
