Attorney-General Admits Comparing ECHR Critics to Nazis Was ‘Clumsy’

Richard Hermer’s spokesman has issued a terse row-back of the attorney-general’s comments last night comparing critics of the ECHR to Nazis:

“He rejects the characterisation of his speech by the Conservatives. He acknowledges though that his choice of words was clumsy and regrets having used this reference.”
