Barack Obama’s lazy post about starvation in Gaza was missing some critical information

President Barack Obama’s intellectually lazy post about the situation in Gaza got a much-needed reality check from X users.

Leftists love to complain about the horrible situation in Gaza, but many never stop to ask why things are so bad in the region. If they do, they may immediately conclude Israel has something to do with it and not look into the issue further, as they’ve come up with an answer that suits their narrative.

Obama found himself among the former group with a statement decrying the “preventable starvation” in Gaza, but stopping just short of identifying the cause.

“While a lasting resolution to the crisis in Gaza must involve a return of all hostages and a cessation of Israel’s military operations, these articles underscore the immediate need for action to be taken to prevent the travesty of innocent people dying of preventable starvation,” he wrote, linking to a story on the issue. The article, written by The New York Times, also fails to identify the cause of the issue, though it predictably implies that Israel bears some responsibility.

It didn’t take long for the former president to receive his share of backlash for the post and surprisingly, the outrage came from both sides. The right was upset over Obama failing to mention that Hamas terrorists have a stranglehold on the region’s resources, while the left lamented over the amount of time it took Obama to speak about the plight of the region.
