Last year the Charter Mayor (before Scarborough Town Council was founded) had an allowance of £1,000 – not £500 – and this was paid to him as a wage. Included in the Council’s new budget is an expenses allowance of £3500 for Reform’s Mayor. So not as a wage…
That would mean the allowance increase for Reform’s mayor would be 250%. Once Yusuf’s Reform DOGE Unit gets to Scarborough it may have a view on that hike either way…
