How do you make this mistake? Seriously?
If you’re a sports fan, you’re very well aware that Wednesday night brought us the 2025 NBA Draft, which was being hosted at Barclays Center (the home of the Brooklyn Nets) and broadcasted by … you guessed it … ESPN. And while that’s business as usual, the four-letter network made one hell of a blunder that I just don’t understand.
Duke phenom Cooper Flagg was the eventual No. 1 overall pick, going to the Dallas Mavericks where we’ll join up with superstars Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis. Well, beforehand, ESPN tried to have a creative moment with Flagg, except … it wasn’t him. It was Rutgers guard Ace Bailey who popped on the screen. Oh! And it gets even worse! When they thought they had Flagg again, it wasn’t him either! It was Rutgers guard Dylan Harper.
It was absolutely embarrassing, like seriously, how do you mistake two black guys for a white guy? Especially when you’re as left-wing as ESPN and take pride in identity politics? (RELATED: Thunder’s Nikola Topic Makes NBA History By Literally Doing Nothing)
Just embarrassing, man.
“Welcome back to SportsCenter. You’re looking at Cooper Flagg … That is not Cooper Flagg at all, actually,” said a very loud woman who was broadcasting for ESPN at that moment.
You can watch the video of the scene here.

Holy hell, I can’t stand how cringe ESPN is nowadays … for the love of God, somebody buy them from Disney.
