Biden’s Doctor Officially Subpoenaed in Growing Cognitive Decline Scandal [WATCH]

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) has issued a subpoena to Dr. Kevin O’Connor, the former White House physician to Joe Biden, as part of an investigation into alleged efforts to conceal the former president’s cognitive decline during his time in office.

The subpoena, delivered Thursday, requires Dr. O’Connor to appear for a deposition on June 27.

The decision to compel his testimony follows his refusal to participate in a voluntary interview requested by the committee in May.

“On May 22, 2025, the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform requested that you—because of your role as former Physician to the President for President Joe Biden—appear for a transcribed interview on June 25, 2025, broadly regarding ‘the circumstances surrounding your assessment in February 2024 that former President Biden was ‘a healthy, active, robust 81-year-old male, who remains fit to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency,’” Comer wrote in the subpoena letter.

“Given your connections with the Biden family, the Committee sought to understand if you contributed to an effort to hide former President Biden’s fitness to serve from the American people,” Comer added.

“You refused the Committee’s request. However, to advance the Committee’s oversight and legislative responsibilities and interests, your testimony is critical.”

The Oversight Committee is currently reviewing whether O’Connor’s public assessments accurately reflected Biden’s condition in the final year of his presidency.

Particular focus has been placed on O’Connor’s February 2024 report declaring Biden to be mentally and physically capable of carrying out the duties of president, despite growing concern about the then-president’s frequent public missteps and reported reliance on staff.

This latest move comes amid an ongoing joint investigation by the Oversight Committee and the Department of Justice into potential misuse of executive authority during the final months of the Biden-Harris administration.

That probe includes scrutiny of Biden’s use of an autopen—a mechanical signature device—for signing official documents, including presidential pardons, instead of personally executing them.

Questions have been raised about whether Biden was fully engaged in decision-making during the period leading up to his announcement that he would not seek reelection.

Critics say the increasing use of the autopen and limited public appearances suggested a diminished capacity.

Biden responded to the allegations on Wednesday, rejecting the claims that he was not in control of presidential decisions.

“Let me be clear: I made the decisions during my presidency. I made the decisions about the pardons, executive orders, legislation, and proclamations. Any suggestion that I didn’t is ridiculous and false,” Biden said in remarks reported by NBC News.

He also called the investigation a “distraction” being used by Republicans.

However, congressional Republicans have for more than a year expressed concern over what they describe as a pattern of cognitive decline and administrative shielding during Biden’s final months in office.

GOP lawmakers argue that the American public was misled about the president’s mental fitness, and they say key figures in the administration—including medical and legal advisors—must be held accountable.

The June 27 deposition of Dr. O’Connor is expected to play a central role in determining whether medical assessments were influenced by political pressure or coordination with senior Biden aides.

It also raises the possibility of further subpoenas to members of the former president’s inner circle.

The investigation is ongoing.
