“Real Time” host Bill Maher called Harvard University an “asshole factory” amid the beef between the university and the Trump administration.
“Trump has declared full-scale war on Harvard, and like so many things he does, there’s a kernel of a good idea there,” Maher said in Friday’s episode.
“I’ve been shitting on Harvard long before he was,” the host added.
CNN’s Jake Tapper, Maher’s guest, noted Maher is a graduate of another ivy league school, Cornell. Maher said his dislike for Harvard has nothing to do with which school he attended.
“It’s because Harvard is an asshole factory in a lot of ways that produces smirking fuck faces,” Maher stated.
Maher’s other guest on the episode, Massachusetts Democratic Congressman Seth Moulton is a Harvard alum. It remains unclear if Maher was aware of Moulton’s alma mater.
“He has three degrees from Harvard,” Tapper said of Moulton. “He’s a fuck face times three.”

Maher’s comments come amid Trump’s push to penalize Harvard by freezing billions of dollars in federal grants after the school failed to address the antisemitism on campus, according to the New York Post. (RELATED: Alan Dershowitz Says He Knows Exactly Which Parts Of Harvard Trump Should Defund)
Trump has also threatened to revoke Harvard’s tax-exempt status, the outlet noted.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) revoked the university’s ability to host foreign students on May 22, citing Harvard’s “toxic campus climate.” The revoking means that the university cannot enroll any new foreign students and all foreign students currently enrolled in Harvard “must transfer or lose their legal status.”
A federal judge then temporarily blocked the administration from banning international students at the university, the Post reported.
Harvard’s president Alan Garber appeared to hint at Trump’s crackdown on foreign students during his speech at the school’s commencement, the outlet noted.
“Members of the Class of 2025, from down the street, across the country and around the world … just as it should be,” he said in the speech.
