Veteran musician Billy Joel has canceled all scheduled concerts after being diagnosed with a neurological condition known as normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), his representatives confirmed in a public statement this week, as reported by USA Today.
The announcement, made via Joel’s official Instagram account, stated the condition has worsened due to recent live performances.
“This condition has been exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision, and balance,” the statement read. Joel is now undergoing physical therapy and has been advised by his doctors to step away from the stage for the foreseeable future.

The tour included collaborations with fellow iconic artists such as Rod Stewart, Sting, and Stevie Nicks.
Joel’s career spans decades, with numerous accolades and a long-standing record of sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden. Known for hits like “Piano Man,” “Uptown Girl,” and “My Life,” Joel has built a legacy on both emotional ballads and gritty, working-class anthems.
“Billy is thankful for the excellent care he is receiving and is fully committed to prioritizing his health,” the statement added. “He is grateful for the support from fans during this time and looks forward to the day when he can once again take the stage.”
