Bloody Bathtub And Suicide Watch: Rob Reiner’s Murder Reportedly Leaves Gruesome Aftermath

Nick Reiner, arrested in connection with the murders of his parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, reportedly left behind a chilling trail of blood in a hotel.

Nick checked in at the Pierside Santa Monica hotel about 4 a.m. Sunday with his credit card, hours after a harsh dispute with his father at Conan O’Brien’s Christmas party, sources with direct knowledge told TMZ. Witnesses who saw him arrive described his demeanor as “tweaked out,” though they noted there were no visible cuts or blood on his body at the time. His hotel room allegedly told a very different story.

Nick booked the room for a single night but never formally checked out, TMZ reported. When hotel staff entered the room later that morning, they were allegedly confronted with a horrifying scene.

The shower was “full of blood,” blood was found on the bed and the window had been obscured using bed sheets, sources said.

Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Robbery-Homicide detectives arrived at the location Monday to collect evidence and speak with employees as the investigation intensified, according to TMZ. Nick was later found roughly 20 miles away and apprehended in the vicinity of downtown Los Angeles.

The shock deepened as details emerged about the discovery of Rob and Michele’s bodies. Sources close to the situation told TMZ that Billy Crystal and his wife, Janice, were among the first to arrive at the Brentwood home. Rob and Michele’s daughter, Romy, reportedly called Crystal shortly after contacting police and the couple rushed over so quickly that they saw their slain friends.

Rob and Michele’s were found dead Sunday afternoon, the outlet reported. Police arrested Nick on suspicion of murder Sunday night. Police sources said he is currently in police custody and has been placed on suicide watch.

The LAPD’s Gang and Narcotics Division released images from Nick’s arrest, showing him being handcuffed by cops alongside the U.S. Marshals Service, according to TMZ. In a now-deleted social media post, authorities confirmed that a U.S. Marshal Task Force assisted Robbery-Homicide detectives in locating and apprehending a double-homicide suspect. Law enforcement sources said the Marshal’s Apprehension Task Force helped track Nick down before he was transferred to homicide investigators. He is now being held at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility as the the murder investigation continues.
