Ramesh, who was born in India but has resided in the United Kingdom for several years, was traveling with his brother. The family is still awaiting information on his sibling’s condition.
According to the BBC, Ramesh had called relatives in Leicester, England, to let them know he was alive.
Ajay Valgi, a relative of Ramesh, said the family received a call from him shortly after the crash. “He called and said he’s fine,” Valgi told the BBC. Family members have since gathered in Leicester as they wait for more information from Indian authorities and the airline.
