Border czar Tom Homan sounds the alert over Iranian terrorist sleeper cells

Border czar Tom Homan sounded the alert as the nation braces for Iran’s response following the weekend’s successful strikes on three of the Islamic Republic’s nuclear sites.

The world’s foremost sponsor of terrorism has long cultivated a global network of sleeper cells, with the likelihood that many of them are in the United States awaiting orders, thanks to disgraced former President Joe Biden’s unwillingness to protect the homeland from such threats by protecting the border.

Homan discussed the perilous situation on this week’s edition of “Sunday Morning Futures” when asked by Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo about whether there should be concern that Iranian terrorists could be poised to kill Americans.

Bartiromo asked, “How many Iranians are in the country that are in sleeper cells trying to do bad to America, right now?”

“I pulled numbers this morning just from CBP under Joe Biden. There was 1,272 nationals Iran released in the country,” Homan responded, noting the difference between the previous regime and President Donald J. Trump, who moved quickly to shut the border down after taking office.

“Under Joe Biden, we had over 10 million people cross that border,” Homan explained, adding, “More than two million known gotaways, over two million people crossed that border. We don’t know who they are, where they came from, because they got away cause Border Patrol is so overwhelmed with the humanitarian crisis that Biden created.”

“Do we know where every one of the two million are? No, we don’t know who they all are. We don’t know why they are here or where they came from, but we do know, Border Patrol intelligence the last four years. They have found prayer mats south of the border. They have found identification from people from Iran, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Syria, south of the border,” Homan continued.

“We know that some terrorists have crossed that border. We’d be a fool to think zero crossed,” the border czar warned.

“Unfortunately, we know that a lot of people who we don’t have full accounting of were let in over the last four years under the Biden administration,” Vice President JD Vance said during an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday morning.

“Because of the open borders, we are at a serious catch-up phase,” former FBI Assistant Director Chris Swecker warned. “We don’t know where those thousand Iranians are, and who knows how many others got across the border. We missed an opportunity when they caught and released those thousand. We missed the opportunity to gather intel by interviewing them and thoroughly vetting them. We just simply let them go, which is gross negligence on the part of the Biden administration.”

“There’s a certain population of Iranians in the U.S. that we know about, but there’s thousands and thousands that we don’t know about because of the open border situation,” Swecker told Fox News Digital. “The Bureau was concentrating their resources on so-called domestic terrorists like white supremacists and right-wing extremists, and calling them the most serious terrorist threat to this country when it was absolutely the international terrorists that should have been the focus of the bureau’s efforts.”

In the aftermath of the bombing of the Fordow nuclear enrichment facility and two other Iranian nuke sites, the national flag of the globe’s top exporter of terrorism is already being seen on U.S. streets where it’s being flown by protesters along with the Palestinian banner.

On Sunday, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued a memo warning of a “heightened threat environment in the United States.”

“If Iranian leadership were to issue a religious ruling calling for retaliatory violence against specific targets in the Homeland, it could increase the likelihood that a supporter of the Iranian regime is inspired to commit an act of violence in the Homeland,” read the alert from the National Terrorism Advisory System which did not cite any specific threats.
