Brandon Gill Leaves JB Pritzker Squirming During Brutal Congressional Smackdown

Texas Republican Rep. Brandon Gill cornered Democratic Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker during a fiery congressional hearing Wednesday, pressing him on illegal immigration, taxpayer funding for anti-ICE groups, and even the governor’s past statements encouraging men to use women’s restrooms.

In a tense back-and-forth, Gill exposed the governor’s apparent contradictions — forcing Pritzker to dodge simple questions, deny knowledge of high-profile crimes and awkwardly distance himself from controversial groups he helped fund. Gill opened the exchange by asking whether Pritzker knew the cost of illegal immigration to his state. When the governor said he didn’t, Gill pointed out that the burden comes out to over $780 per family per year in Illinois.

Gill then dropped a bombshell: confronting Pritzker with the names of two illegal immigrants who raped and murdered 12-year-old Jocelyn Younger in Texas.

“Do you think they should have been welcomed into our communities?” Gill asked.

Pritzker floundered, unable — or unwilling — to give a direct answer.

Gill then pivoted to immigration policy, confronting Pritzker over a past statement that elected officials should “welcome” illegal aliens. Pritzker tried to redefine terms, saying those immigrants were asylum seekers.

Gill responded “Make sure we use the proper terminology — asylum seekers who raped and murdered a 12-year-old girl.”

The Texas congressman then unearthed another uncomfortable truth: Pritzker’s administration awarded a grant to a group that publicly advocates for abolishing ICE.

Pritzker claimed he supports an immigration enforcement agency, but Gill didn’t let him off the hook: “You financially support groups who want to abolish ICE. That’s a reflection of your values.”

The exchange took another turn when Gill brought up a 2017 tweet where Pritzker encouraged people to protest President Trump by using the bathroom of the “other gender.”

Gill asked “Do you think biological men should be able to use women’s restrooms?”

Pritzker dodged again. “I don’t recall ever using the women’s restroom,” he said — while trying to downplay his own call for others to do so.

Gill didn’t miss a beat: “So you told everyone else to do it — but not you. That either makes you a hypocrite or a liar. I happen to think you’re both.”

Finally, Gill exposed a $25,000 grant given by the state of Illinois to the Muslim Civic Coalition — an organization that, just weeks after the Oct. 7 Hamas terror attack on Israel, marched through the streets of Chicago chanting anti-Israel slogans.

“Is this a reflection of your values?” Gill asked.

Pritzker insisted he opposes antisemitism but wouldn’t explain why his administration gave taxpayer money to a group accusing the U.S. of backing “genocide” in Gaza.

“You gave them the money. That was your choice,” Gill said.

The hearing ended with Pritzker visibly rattled and Gill firmly in control — laying out a paper trail of receipts that left the Illinois governor tangled in contradictions.
