A moment of silence was held for conservative activist Charlie Kirk by the Cleveland Browns prior to Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers at Huntington Bank Field.
It came just ahead of the national anthem.
The founder of Turning Point USA, Kirk passed away after he was shot in the neck while speaking at an event that was taking place at Utah Valley University, according to an announcement from President Donald Trump. Several teams in the NFL have paid tribute to Kirk at their home games since his death, including the Browns, Miami Dolphins, Tennessee Titans, Pittsburgh Steelers, Arizona Cardinals, Buffalo Bills, New Orleans Saints, Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, New York Jets and Dallas Cowboys.
The moment of silence from the Browns featured a video of Kirk that was played on the stadium scoreboards.

A public memorial service was held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. ET for Kirk at State Farm Stadium, the home of the Cardinals, in Glendale, Arizona.
The event featured speeches from the country’s top Republicans and other conservative figures, putting a spotlight on the massive influence that Kirk and Turning Point USA had on politics in the United States.
When it comes to college football teams, it’s worth noting that only a few have honored Kirk at home games, especially considering the majority of his movement involved university campuses. Kirk was a fan of Oregon, a team who chose not to honor the conservative icon.
