Byron Donalds Busts Out Laughing at Dems ‘Dumbest Thing Ever’ [WATCH]

Florida Rep. Byron Donalds and Fox News host Laura Ingraham reacted with disbelief and laughter Friday night after a video clip from the 2025 “Voters of Tomorrow” youth summit appeared to show Democratic organizers encouraging attendees to participate in a “yarn-throwing” breakout session.

The segment aired during Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle” and featured remarks from Ingraham and Donalds, who commented on the Democratic Party’s attempt to engage young voters ahead of the midterm elections.

The “Voters of Tomorrow” summit included appearances from several Democratic lawmakers, including Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi and California Rep. Ro Khanna.

During the broadcast, Ingraham played a clip showing two individuals at a podium referencing a breakout session that would involve throwing “balls of yarn” for those interested in “bonding.”

“If you want to throw balls of yarn and bond, go to the back,” the announcer said in the clip.

“If you don’t want to throw balls of yarn and bond, that’s OK.”

“Oh my god,” Ingraham said while laughing. “I just want you to know, Congressman—”

“That’s not real!” Donalds responded.

The pair laughed as Ingraham questioned the nature of the activity.

“It has to be fake,” she said.

“I wish I had a ball of yarn because I would throw it at the camera right now just to be goofy. But at this point you just have to walk out of the room and say, I’ve got to switch parties. This is so embarrassing.”

Donalds responded by saying the event highlighted why Democrats are losing support from young men.

“If you want to know why the Democrats are losing young men, that’s why,” Donalds said.

“There ain’t a young man in America today that wants to be throwing yarn in the back. I’m just sorry. That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen, Laura. But why should we be shocked? This is the same party that lied to us and said that Joe Biden was capable of doing his job. And we all know he was not.”

Ingraham also pointed out that the summit required participants to present a valid photo ID for entry, a practice that Donalds called hypocritical in light of the Democratic Party’s opposition to voter ID laws.

“Look, again, rules for thee, not for them,” Donalds said.

“This is the craziest thing. If they actually believed in common sense, I truly believe they would stand a chance for the future. But if they continue to go down as foolishness, you need to show an ID to get into their summit. But in California, you don’t need to show an ID to vote.”

“It’s this type of idiocy, which is why the Democrats are losing Americans more and more,” he continued.

“Just look at their approval ratings, the lowest they’ve ever been in the modern era. They’re going to continue to fall behind. I think in the midterm elections, I say let them continue these summits. We’ll go ahead and win the House and Senate majorities in the midterms. We will continue to work with President Trump to make America not just great again, but better than it’s ever been.”

Democrats have maintained their opposition to voter ID requirements, even as they implement ID checks for access to their own events.

The summit’s ID policy mirrors security practices at the 2024 Democratic National Convention, where attendees were also required to show photo identification to enter.

President Trump signed an executive order in March 2025 requiring proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections, intensifying the national debate over voter identification.

While Democrats continue to challenge the executive order, critics have pointed to what they see as inconsistencies in the party’s application of identification requirements in practice.
