Clark is scheduled to make her debut for NBC this upcoming weekend at Madison Square Garden prior to the game between the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks, and will come back for an additional appearance Mar. 29 when New York goes on the road to play the Oklahoma City Thunder.
“There’s no more iconic figure in basketball in the women’s game right now, or the game in general,” said NBC Sports executive producer Sam Flood while speaking with The Associated Press. “So, we said, ‘let’s have a bigger conversation.’”

NBC is banking on the idea that Clark‘s on-court genius will translate to on-air charisma.
That is a dangerous, $375-million lesson Fox is currently learning the hard way with Tom Brady. We all love Tom, but let’s be honest: watching the greatest quarterback of all-time stumble through basic analysis, stutter over his words, and leave thoughts unfinished has been painful.
I’m calling it now: Clark will be lackluster at best when it comes to broadcasting, and NBC will pay the price in more ways than one.
