California-based influencer Megan Farina is facing public backlash after posting a TikTok video mocking the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.
The video, which has since been deleted, drew widespread condemnation and led to significant fallout for Farina and her family.
In the original clip, Farina addressed her audience with the words, “Gather ’round, b****es,” before adopting a sarcastic tone to speak about Kirk.
“Join hands and bow our heads in thoughts and prayers for Charlie Kirk,” she said. She then danced and sang, repeating, “Thoughts and prayers for Charlie Kirk Thoughts and pray~ers …”
The video quickly spread online, gaining millions of views.

Following the viral reaction, Farina released another video attempting to clarify her comments, but it also has since been deleted.
Her remarks drew further scrutiny after viewers began targeting her boyfriend’s electrical business, leaving one-star reviews and contacting the company directly.
Farina later posted a statement expressing her frustration over the backlash.
“Since I have posted the videos, my life has been turned completely upside down and I have been thrown into what can only be described as LITERAL HELL,” she said.
She alleged that her family was doxxed and claimed her boyfriend faced verbal harassment related to her remarks.
“We have been traumatized and stripped of our privacy, all because I said Charlie Kirk – who did not believe in empathy himself – did not have mine,” Farina stated.
She added, “I think the most ironic thing is that my life and my family’s lives have been torn apart over my words on the internet by the very people who support Charlie Kirk and are always yelling the loudest about their First Amendment right.”
In the same statement, she continued: “While I believe strongly that words have consequences, there is nothing I did or said that even deserved a percentage of what happened to me and my family.”

Video accounts from those who confronted Farina’s boyfriend contradicted some of her claims.
Witnesses described him attempting to usher individuals away from his workplace when they asked whether he disavowed Farina’s remarks about Kirk.
The business has not publicly addressed the situation.
Farina’s remarks gained attention not only because of her comments about Kirk but also due to her past statements online.
During the last election cycle, she urged her followers to effectively “cancel” anyone who did not explicitly state support for then-candidate Kamala Harris.
According to her posts, this included people who said they did not want to publicly share their political stance.
Charlie Kirk, a high-profile conservative activist and founder of Turning Point USA, was assassinated earlier this year.
His death has sparked intense debate across the political spectrum, with memorial services drawing large crowds nationwide.
Farina’s situation has become part of that broader debate, as her remarks and the public response highlight ongoing tensions surrounding political speech, social media, and accountability for public figures online.
