California First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom says that her sons like to follow sports figures on YouTube, but that leads them into darker areas of social media, where they’re met with “alt-right, extreme, Jordan Peterson-type” content that teaches them hate, racism, and misogyny. She thinks tech leaders need to be accountable … after all, they’re making all of this money and leaving our world in a very dangerous place.
Who’s going to hold them accountable? Is her partner going to take us back to President Joe Biden’s meddling with social media companies? He might not have much luck this time, seeing how Elon Musk owns X.
