And it’s not just my weather enthusiasm, I’m originally from the region as well!
The Carolina Hurricanes dropped new away threads Wednesday, and quite frankly, they’re terrible. In fact, they’re so terrible that I’m completely in my feelings about it. The audacity of this organization! (RELATED: Florida Panthers’ Evan Rodrigues Takes Stanley Cup Trophy To Disney World)
The Canes are using a design that is similar to what they wore at the Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series in 2023, but this go around, the sweater’s base color will be white instead of black.

On the front, the updated road jerseys feature the franchise’s Stadium Series crest, while on the left shoulder is the North Carolina state flag, which they also ruined. Though I did like Stormy, the Canes‘ vintage mascot, which is placed on the jersey’s right shoulder.
The first road contest of the campaign for the Hurricanes is an October 14 matchup taking on the San Jose Sharks.

I wasn’t necessarily a fan of “CANES” being written across the front either, but these are more atrocious. And since we’re changing jerseys, why not just go back to this hurricane design for the away jersey just like the home ones?

It’s such a cool design as a hurricane enthusiast, and just cool, period. You ruined it, Carolina.
