The woman, Blessing Olubanjo, has said that unless the crossings are removed she would begin judicial review proceedings. The council have now indicated they would fight the case in court, stating they “entirely reject” the pre-action letter sent by Olubanjo, adding they will continue to “fight discrimination in all its forms and this includes being an ally to our trans residents.” What would likely be an expensive battle…
It’s surprising, then, that the council have prepared enough money to fight a culture war considering their constant whingeing over not having enough money to support locals, bemoaning that the “government has continued to cut our funding”. Local residents may have a view on what should be the priority here…
