CBS reporter wets herself over Taylor Swift engagement news, feels ‘like Paul Revere’

The news that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce got engaged sent some people right back to grade school.

Some people are having a difficult time with one reporter’s off-air reaction to the news that Swift and Kelce are preparing to tie the knot. Video of CBS News White House correspondent Olivia Rinaldi fangirling has rubbed someone the wrong way, with many believing that it is “unhealthy,” while others wish “real news was this important to her.”

Watch:

“Taylor Swift is engaged? Taylor Swift is engaged! Taylor Swift is engaged! This… come back to me. She just posted it. Oh my God, oh my God. Oh, it’s huge, the ring is ginormous!” the journalist squeaked. “Oh my God, oh my God, it’s on her Instagram. It’s on her Instagram. Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God. I feel like Paul Revere right now.”

The clip transitions to Rinaldi breaking the news live on air in a slightly more professional manner, but one could tell she was definitely more passionate about the pending nuptials of two celebrities than she was about the current state of the country.

It’s clear that she is very excited about the news, and likely grew up in the generation that watched Swift transition from a young, plucky country singer to a peppy, lovestruck pop star. While it’s understandable that she and millions of others were stoked to receive the announcement, some thought the reaction was over-the-top, especially given that Rinaldi was at work.
