Chagossian protesters are still camped outside the High Court, furious over Starmer’s surrender deal. This morning’s ‘virtual signing’ was delayed when Chagossian Bertrice Pompe launched a last-minute legal challenge. Now the court has cleared the way for the government’s giveaway, Pompe had this message for Starmer:

“Today has been a very, very, sad day. We take courage with the people we have behind us. The government are not treating us that we are human beings. We have rights. We are British citizens yet our right doesn’t count. We don’t want to give our rights to Mauritius. We’re not Mauritian. We need to keep fighting with the British government. We’re not giving up.”

Starmer handing out £9 billion to give away territory the UK already owns won’t sit well with the rest of the public either…
