‘Charlie Kirk Show’ producer tells Comedy Central to reinstate episode mocking Kirk: He loved it

The executive producer of The Charlie Kirk Show took to social media to call on Paramount+ to keep airing a “South Park” episode titled “Got a Nut,” which featured a parody of the slain Turning Point USA co-founder.

Andrew Kolvet, a close friend who worked on Kirk’s show, said Charlie Kirk “loved that he was featured in ‘South Park‘” and would have wanted the episode, in which Cartman imitates Kirk’s hairstyle and sets up a table to debate students on politics, to continue airing.

“Hey @paramountplus, as someone who can speak with some authority on this, Charlie loved that he was featured in South Park. He told me many times. He would want the episode back up,” Kolvet posted on X.

Comedy Central pulled the episode from its linear rotation after Kirk was assassinated while speaking at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10.

Not helping matters, the Hollywood Reporter ran a story claiming “MAGA blames South Park” for the assassination of Kirk.

While Comedy Central has pulled the “South Park” episode that featured the parody, it has not been on account of any criticism in the wake of Kirk’s murder last week in Utah.

Despite the outlet’s claim that “some on the right are taking aim at the show,” the article did say the “majority on the right were quick to note they do not blame the series, so the impulse to bash the show has been far from universal.”

“On a Reddit thread about the episode being pulled, fans agreed not airing the episode was ‘the polite thing to do’ while also concurring that South Park doesn’t deserve blame for the real-life violence,” THR reported.

Kirk found the episode “hilarious,” as seen here:

He also addressed the episode with Fox News Digital, saying it speaks to the “cultural impact” he was having.

“Honestly, my first reaction was that I kinda laughed,” Kirk said. “It’s kinda funny, and it kinda goes to show the cultural impact and the resonance that our movement has been able to achieve. I look at this as a badge of honor.”

“We as conservatives need to be able to take a joke. We shouldn’t take ourselves so seriously,” he added. “That’s something that the left has always done, to great detriment to themselves and the movement. Look, they’re professional comedians. They’re probably going to roast me, and I think that’s fine. That’s what it’s all about, being in public life and making a difference.”
