Mahomes went down with the injury with under two minutes on the clock.

Desperate to spark a late comeback for the Chiefs, Mahomes escaped the pocket and rolled right, pursued closely by Chargers defensive end Da’Shawn Hand. As he planted his left foot to throw the ball away — resulting in an incompletion — his left knee buckled awkwardly under the pressure. Mahomes crumpled to the turf, immediately clutching his knee and grimacing in obvious pain.
After Sunday’s defeat against the Chargers, the Chiefs have been officially eliminated from the NFL Playoffs.
