Chris Cuomo mercilessly roasts AOC as she drops ‘presidential-like’ video

NewsNation host Chris Cuomo joined others in blasting Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez after she released the type of promotional video one would release if they were planning to run for president.

On Thursday, a day after she released the video, Cuomo argued on air that Democrats would be wise to steer away from her going into 2028 because she’s what he described as an “80/20” loser.

“AOC has done nothing meaningful in Congress,” he began. “She’s done it all on social media. And she’s one of your leading names, and who’s going to be president? Do you not get this concept of 80/20? She’s an 80/20 loser all day long.”

“Why? She is clearly catering to a minority. She’s her own version of MAGA. She’s looking for an outraged enclave. She’s not about the majority, she’s not about consensus. She’s not about solutions. She wants government to give you everything. She’s a socialist in a capitalist society. What are you thinking!?” he added.

Listen:

By 80/20 loser, he meant the fact that on virtually every issue, Ocasio-Cortez tends to align herself with the fringe side that only a meager 20 percent of Americans support but 80 percent of Americans oppose.

For example, she supports biological men competing against biological women. She also supports granting citizenship to illegal aliens.

Despite her fringe views, she’s been on tour nationally with Sen. Bernie Sanders and just released a presidential-like video on Wednesday depicting her recent rally in Idaho.

“Idaho, I am so touched being here,” she could be heard saying in the video. “I’m a girl from the Bronx. To be welcomed here in this state, all of us together, seeing our common cause — this is what this country is all about.”

“Idaho, I know that looking around here, it can feel impossible for Republicans out here to be defeated. That’s not true. It’s simply not true. And from the waitress who is now speaking to you today from this podium, I can tell you impossible is nothing,” she continued.

Listen, and also take note of the message Ocasio-Cortez wrote to go along with the video:

The video was quickly ratioed by an army of critics, including noted evolutionary psychologist and University of New Mexico professor Geoffrey Miller.

“You literally just separated us into ‘Black and white and Latino,’” he noted in a tweet, referencing the words Ocasio-Cortez had written to go along with her presidential-like video.

“And you capitalized ‘Black’ and ‘Latino’ but not ‘white’, implying that White is not a legitimate racial identity. We see right through your vacuous word games,” he added.

A retired U.S. Army officer known online only as Cynical Publius also reacted negatively to the video.

“The ENTIRE PURPOSE of the Democrat Party is to divide us into groups, rural and urban, Black and white and Latino,” he tweeted. “It’s the reason for your party’s existence and how you achieve and maintain power. It’s why DEI exists. Stop lying.”
