Belmont University, a private Christian school in Nashville, appears to be making a sincere effort to rid itself of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
Last week, Belmont’s Office of the President sent an email seeking an “external partner” to review whether the school has been thoroughly complying with President Donald Trump’s executive orders eliminating DEI.

According to Fox News, which has reviewed the email, it also called for the “external partner” to ensure that the school is abiding by all immigration laws.
“I am reaching out to update you about next steps in response to the concerns raised by elected officials regarding Belmont’s compliance with state and federal immigration laws, as well as executive orders addressing DEI in higher education,” Belmont president Greg Jones wrote.
“While we make every effort to ensure compliance and continue to maintain our belief that Belmont complies with all applicable laws, we take these concerns seriously. With this in mind, we are bringing in an external partner to initiate an independent compliance review,” he added.
This effort to get in line with the Trump administration’s demands comes after Tennessee Rep. Andy Ogles shone a spotlight on the school’s previous violations of said demands.
Ogles claimed in a letter written to Education Secretary Linda McMahon earlier this month that the school simply rebranded its DEI program into an equivalent program, HUB, short for “hope, unity, and belonging.”
“Belmont University claims to be a Christian institution grounded in Biblical principles—but its administration is injecting anti-gospel DEI ideology into its curriculum,” Ogles wrote at the time. “President Trump has rightly demanded that colleges and universities dismantle the DEI cartel or lose federal funding.”
“Belmont officials, however, have been caught on camera bragging about their ‘clever’ scheme to rebrand DEI and continue pushing the same radical agenda under a new name. I am demanding a full investigation into Belmont—and, if necessary, a cut to their federal funding,” he added.
SCOOP UPDATE: Rep. Andy Ogles from Tennessee’s 5th congressional district located close to Belmont University in Nashville, has responded to this morning’s leaked videos exposing the university’s secret DEI program and concealment of illegals enrolled at the school.

His letter referenced an undercover recording showing an employee of Belmont’s “Division of Student Success and Flourishing” admitting that the school still boasts DEI policies but that they’ve “just change[d]” how they talk about them.
“The HUB is hope, unity, and belonging — that’s DEI, let’s be real,” employee Jozef Lukey said in the clip. “We always try to just adapt to what’s happening around us. But that doesn’t mean, like, what we’re focusing on completely stops. We just changed the terminology and the language that we keep moving forward.”
In the same recording, Lukey also admitted that the school still enrolls illegal alien students but simply hides that info from the government.
Listen:
Ogles wasn’t pleased by what he heard.
“I want to be clear, I think the world of Belmont. My daughter applied to Belmont. She was accepted at Belmont,” he said in a video announcement. “Nashville is unique — we have Vanderbilt, we have Belmont, we have David Lipscomb, we have Meharry [Medical College], we have TSU.”
“We have all these amazing institutions, to include Belmont, which now has a new medical school, so I want to sing their praises, but I also have to hold them accountable, and this ‘wokeness’ is in violation of President Trump’s executive order,” he added.
Belmont’s continued foray into DEI has also been exposed by other whistleblower documents and information that Ogles has received.
One set of documents showed that school professors are required to prepare a “Diversity Impact Statement” when proposing new courses.
Another set of documents included screenshots of internal emails showing Belmont staff intent on keeping its faculty DEI committee intact next school year.
“Ogles also received a document outlining Belmont’s faculty hiring procedures for deans, which compels the completion of multiple DEI ‘assessment[s]’ when engaging in ‘pre-search activities,’” according to Fox News.
This hiring document also stated that the search committees responsible for finding new hires must be “diverse across race and gender and preferably include faculty of color.”
