Christian woman fleeing Islamic persecution overturns asylum decision

A Christian woman who fled Islamic persecution to seek asylum in the UK has won the legal right to remain in the country.

Her legal team has claimed there was resistance from ‘pro-Islamic elements’ in the Home Office and evidence of ‘tampering’ with her application.

The woman, known as ‘Maria’, said she and her family had effectively received a ‘death penalty’ from the Home Office when ordered to return to her country of origin.
