Clay Travis Predicts Many More Things To Come After Appeals Court Rules Trump Fine Excessive

Clay Travis predicted on Fox News Thursday more courtroom wins ahead for President Donald Trump.

A New York appeals court ruled Thursday that the $515 million civil fraud penalty against Trump was excessive. Judge Arthur Engoron originally ordered Trump to pay $355 million in the case brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James over alleged inflated net worth. During an appearance on “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Travis said the ruling should set the stage for broader reversals.

“She [James] needs to be put in handcuffs, but in the meantime, can you imagine being a fan of MSNBC or CNN or the New York Times or the Washington Post? They keep being told, ‘Oh, we’ve got them now.’ And Trump just keeps winning, and I give credit to the judges,” Travis said. “It took them too long to throw this out. But here’s what needs to happen next. The 34 felony charges that Alvin Bragg brought need to get kicked to the curb, and the ridiculous E. Jean Carroll verdict also needs to be tossed on appeal.”

In 2023, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg won a grand jury indictment charging Trump with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. The case centers on a $130,000 payment to porn star Stormy Daniels during Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.

Travis then predicted that James will eventually face legal consequences of her own.

“Trump is already in the White House, but he’s putting together a string of legal victories, the likes of which we have never seen, Jesse. And I can’t wait until Letitia James gets put in handcuffs and actually pays the price for her mortgage fraud, which is real, unlike the one she made up about Trump,” Travis said.

Federal authorities have launched a probe into James over claims she manipulated mortgage records to secure better loan conditions. Attorney General Pam Bondi appointed Ed Martin to lead an inquiry into James and California Democratic Sen. Adam Schiff, while the Justice Department is also examining whether James infringed on Trump’s civil rights by pursuing the case.
