Joe Biden’s Thursday appearance on ABC’s The View is continuing to generate controversy following concerns over his verbal clarity and claims regarding the 2024 election.
In the wake of the segment, debate unfolded on CNN’s airwaves during a political panel, where tensions rose between contributors Scott Jennings and Ana Navarro.
Biden, in his taped appearance, made headlines after claiming he would have won re-election had he remained in the race.

His speech during the interview drew criticism online, with observers pointing to slurred words and moments of incoherence.
While Biden’s performance raised new questions among viewers, CNN contributor Ana Navarro defended the president during both the broadcast and a subsequent panel discussion hosted by Abby Phillip.
Navarro attempted to downplay the concerns, asserting that the president’s words on the show should be taken at face value, including his denial of reported private remarks to Vice President Kamala Harris.
Navarro’s defense came under immediate scrutiny from fellow panelist Scott Jennings, who questioned the broader credibility of Biden’s claims.

“I will just say watching [Biden] over the last few days reminded me that a whole bunch of people were telling us with a straight face that this man was capable of serving another four years as president,” Jennings said.
He added that the president’s appearance coincided with the looming release of a new book by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios reporter Alex Thompson, which is expected to reveal damaging new details about Biden’s time in office.
“What I understand is going to be the equivalent of a nuclear bomb dropped on the Democratic Party… I don’t know that the Democrats have fully internalized what’s about to happen,” Jennings warned.
Even host Abby Phillip acknowledged that the president may have “deficits” he is unaware of, stating that this could be “part of the problem.”
The discussion then shifted to a claim reported earlier this year that Biden allegedly told Harris there should be “no daylight” between them during her 2024 campaign.
Navarro disputed the report, citing Biden’s on-air denial during The View.
Jennings pressed her on the contradiction, asking whether she was questioning the accuracy of the reporting.
Navarro insisted Joe Biden doesn’t “tell many lies,” prompting visible laughter from Jennings and others on set.
“There are few people who lie like they breathe, and one of them is Joe Biden,” Jennings remarked.

The panel also noted that journalists who reported the “no daylight” quote have stood by their reporting.
Care to weigh in, @amieparnes and @jonallendc?
You’ve been called liars here on the “no daylight kid” moment – but my bet is you’ve got it right and Joe Biden can’t remember what he had for breakfast yesterday.

One reporter emphasized that The View itself referred to the original sourcing as “deeply sourced,” a detail Jennings brought up to counter Navarro’s defense.

The Biden-Harris dynamic continues to be a point of concern for some Democrats following their election loss.
While Navarro attempted to dismiss questions surrounding Harris’s political standing, Jennings pointed out that Harris remained an unpopular and ineffective candidate throughout the campaign cycle.
As scrutiny mounts and new reporting looms, the discussion underscores deep fractures within the Democratic Party regarding leadership, credibility, and the path forward.
The upcoming release of Tapper and Thompson’s book is expected to further intensify internal debates within the party.
