Co-chair of state Democrats proclaims Black Winsome Sears is why Virginians are so racist

Virginia Democrats are doing their level best to dig themselves out of the racist hole one of their supporters put them in, but it seems like none of them know how to work a shovel.

Last week, gubernatorial candidate Winsome Sears spoke out against biological males being able to use the same bathrooms as females in front of the Arlington County School Board. At the same time, a leftist protest was taking place, and one of the signs immediately went viral.

Look:

“Hey Winsome, if trans can’t share your bathroom then blacks can’t share my water fountain,” the sign, held by an older white woman, reads.

Sears is a black woman, and this clearly racist shot got all of the negative attention it deserved. Unfortunately, it created quite the public relations pickle for local Democrats, who are carefully making their way through the mess by … blaming Sears.

What happened in Arlington wasn’t just about a meeting. It was about the climate Winsome Sears is creating, one where contempt is currency and neighbors are turned against each other. [Abigail Spanberger] is running on something stronger: a Virginia where we solve problems, not invent enemies,” wrote Marc Broklawski, Vice-Chair for Rules of the Virginia Democrats.

There you have it, the racist sign was Sears’ fault. Mystery solved, everyone can go home.

Shockingly, this didn’t sit well with X users who know victim-blaming when they see it:
