Columbia University student activist Khymani James, who previously drew controversy for saying “Zionists don’t deserve to live,” is again facing backlash after posting celebratory remarks on social media following the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, as reported by Breitbart.

James began posting shortly after the September 10 shooting at Utah Valley University, where Kirk, 31, was fatally shot in the neck during a speech. At 2:44 p.m., James tweeted “More. MORE!!!”

Minutes later, at 2:45 p.m., he added, “Down with all the fascists,” accompanied by a heart-eyes emoji.

James then retweeted activist @CallaWalsh, who had previously written about Kirk: “Charlie Kirk challenged me to a debate when I was 17 and this is how I responded. Thoughts and prayers for the bullet.”

He also amplified a post from @SocialistMMA declaring, “I will never mourn a genocide apologist. Not sorry, rest in piss.”

Another retweet from @zei_squirrel compared Kirk’s killing to violence in the Middle East, stating, “what was done to Charlie Kirk has been done to countless Palestinian babies, children, girls, boys, women and men … As Malcolm said, the chickens have come home to roost.”

James also reposted additional claims from the same thread alleging that 15-year-old Jana Zakarneh was “intentionally targeted and murdered by Israeli death squads.”

James continued to highlight rhetoric endorsing violence, including one post quoting George Jackson: “If terror is going to be the choice of weapons, let there be funerals on both sides.”

At 3:07 p.m., James tweeted: “be careful what you post and it’s people rightfully celebrating the inevitable and just fate of fascists. anywho… NO ONE MOURNS THE WICKED,” ending with a laughing emoji.

He further retweeted a comparison between Kirk’s assassination and Adolf Hitler’s suicide, alongside another post asserting, “I think Nazis should be shot, actually. There was a war about this.”

Additional posts James shared alleged Kirk was killed by a “professionally trained sniper” and mocked Kirk’s past comments about empathy.

Unlike some left-leaning commentators, including Democratic activist Harry Sisson, who later expressed condolences, James did not alter his tone. Instead, he continued to share posts supporting or mocking Kirk’s death.

Other public figures also posted inflammatory remarks about Kirk, including a Florida anesthesiologist who said she was “really glad” he was shot, a Pennsylvania teacher who wrote that he deserved no empathy, and a Tennessee assistant dean who said she had zero sympathy.

A DC Comics writer and an NBA beat reporter also made disparaging remarks online.

Following Kirk’s death, tributes poured in from national and international leaders.

President Donald Trump announced his passing on Truth Social, called Kirk “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk,” and ordered U.S. flags lowered to half-staff.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also honored Kirk as a “lion-hearted friend of Israel,” saying Kirk “fought the lies and stood tall for Judeo-Christian civilization.” Netanyahu revealed he had spoken with Kirk just two weeks earlier and invited him to visit Israel.
