Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang members are reportedly once again active in Aurora, Colorado’s apartment complexes.
Recall that last summer, reports and video evidence emerged of TdA gang members terrorizing an Aurora apartment complex community.
According to recent reports, they’re back, but at a different apartment complex.
During a Tuesday press conference, Aurora Police Chief Todd Chamberlain played chilling footage from June 9 showing nine armed TdA members knocking on a unit’s door as they pointed their guns.

“The one thing I think is positive about this is the individuals who had just moved into that apartment complex did not open that door,” the police chief said of the footage. “Had they opened that door, I shudder to think of what might have happened to them.”
The police chief added that he believes the people living in the unit are newly immigrant arrivals from Venezuela who, sadly, are being targeted by other recent arrivals from the same nation.
“They are picking on a community that they are versed in,” he said. “They are picking on a community that is the immigrant population in the city of Aurora. They are picking on a community that are primarily Venezuelan.”
Chamberlain further noted that the June 9 incident wasn’t the first of its kind and that calls about squatters, shots fired, kidnappings, and assaults have been pouring in from this particular apartment complex since August of last year.

The doorbell video of the June 9 incident was reportedly given to the police by a neighbor.
“That video helped officers execute a search warrant on June 11, and officers also passed out flyers — in English and Spanish — and spoke to people living in the building about the concerning activity,” according to CBS News.
“During their search, Chamberlain said detectives found a firearm and a red hoodie that was used by one of the suspects seen in the surveillance video. That suspect, 23-year-old Larry Galbreath, was arrested and faces charges including felony menacing with a firearm and violation of a protection order,” the reporting continues.
The police chief concluded his remarks by revealing why he was sharing the doorbell video.
“The reason that I am sharing this video now is because I want everyone to understand and know that we are ahead of this,” he said. “This isn’t something that we are reacting to; this is something that we are proactively addressing.”
“I look at these individuals like a cancer. They are not a benign cancer, they are a cancer that is causing victimization, they are a cancer that must be addressed, they must be cut out, and they must be stopped,” he added.
All this comes a year after the New York Post dropped a bombshell story about how Aurora, “a quiet bedroom community with a population of 390,000 directly east of the Mile-High City, has become a base of operations for the brutal Tren de Aragua gang, which has seized multiple apartment complexes and set off a wave of violent crime.”

A local investor who was affiliated with a company that owned several apartment complexes in Aurora told the Post at the time that there was a “massive shootout” at one of the properties some time ago.
“I’m scared that this could happen in America,” the investor said, adding that the company had “lost control” of several properties because of the gang.
“They were first hanging out around the property and creating a bad element that’s constantly there. And then they started taking over, quite a few months ago, they started taking over vacant units,” they added.
