The ‘transfer’ is as messy as you’d expect. The party says in one email:
“If you paid a membership fee on the previous site launched on the 18th September at yourparty-memberships.uk, please be assured that your membership will be transferred over. We are working at pace and will update you as soon as we have completed the complex legal and regulatory steps required for this process.”
On its website it says that “you will then need to show proof that you joined under that system, for example a screenshot of your email confirmation.“ This is not actually being asked for from transferrers, by the way…
Transferrers are then asked to pay some more anyway: “You indicated that you paid a membership on the other site. Once that runs out, select a new membership tier below.” Separately the party is asking people to “donate to the cost of assemblies” across the UK…
Interest has faded on Your Party’s membership website for its upcoming events. Past posts advertising events with Corbyn got over 400 ‘likes’ each – now adverts for upcoming ‘regional assemblies’ are getting between 20 and 30 likes each. Maybe things will improve once they decide on a name…
