Democratic New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker lost his temper during a Tuesday hearing when FBI Director Kash Patel told him his long rant was not unifying for the United States.
Booker ranted during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing for about three minutes, accusing Patel of making America less safe and suggesting his days leading the FBI were numbered. Patel said Booker’s rant was both inaccurate and divisive, ultimately provoking the Democratic senator to become enraged.

“That rant of false information does not bring this country together,” Patel said.
“My God! My God!” Booker exclaimed. “You’re going to lecture me about dividing this country? I follow you on your social media posts that tear this country apart.”
Patel repeatedly accused Booker of speaking out of turn.
“You are an embarrassment to the division in this country,” the FBI director said. “It is my time. You had your time. Your time is over.”
“Sir, you don’t tell me my time is over … You can’t lecture me … You may in charge of the FBI, but I am not afraid of you, sir,” Booker responded. “I am not afraid of you.”
Moreover, Patel said earlier in the hearing that “a lot more” than 20 Discord users are currently under investigation in relation to the Wednesday assassination of Turning Point USA (TPUSA) founder Charlie Kirk. Alleged assassin Tyler Robinson made comments on Discord to his online friends that indicated he killed Kirk, The Washington Post reported on Monday, citing screenshots of the discussion and two sources familiar.
Booker also lost his temper at Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz during a heated exchange at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing in June. During the hearing, Cruz repeatedly interrupted Booker to inquire whether former President Joe Biden’s Justice Department arrested any protesters who demonstrated outside the homes of Supreme Court Justices — prompting the Democrat to raise his voice.
“I did not interrupt you, sir. I would appreciate if you let me finish!” Booker exclaimed, his face contorted in rage. “I am sick and tired of hearing the kind of heated partisan rhetoric, which is one of the reasons why we have such divisions in this country.”
