Couple Arrested After Mom Allegedly Sells 2-Year-Old Daughter To Meth Dealer

An Oklahoma City woman who allegedly sold her daughter to a methamphetamine dealer was arrested Tuesday on charges of enabling child abuse at the hands of her boyfriend, who was also arrested and charged with child abuse, according to reports.

These are only the latest charges against Ashley Ceejay Rowland, 39, mother of London Kerr, who police believe went missing in 2022, according to The Oklahoman. London’s disappearance was discovered when the Oklahoma Department of Human Services was unable to find her during a pickup order. London was two years old at the time.

Rowland reportedly told police that London was with her father in Georgia. However, investigators later learned that was false, according to the outlet, citing an arrest affidavit. Rowland later told the authorities that she gave the baby to a man named “Carlos,” who sold her methamphetamine in 2022. Rowland claimed that was the last time she saw her daughter, and that Carlos said he was going back to Mexico.

While London was still with her mother, she allegedly suffered abuse at the hands of Rowland’s boyfriend, Joshua Paul Denton, 40. Police interviewed Rowland’ sother teenaged children who reportedly alleged that Denton abused London by hitting her with a wooden paddle and shooting her with a BB gun.

Denton’s own children, an 8-year-old daughter and 10-year-old son, also alleged that he abused them and London, according to The Oklahoman. He allegedly poured hot sauce into London’s eyes more than once and locked her in the closet. Denton reportedly threatened to beat his kids if they told Rowland what he had done to London. Denton also allegedly sexually abused his daughter and threatened to kill her if she told anyone about it, according to the outlet.

An Oklahoma City Police Department press release confirming Rowland and Denton’s arrest said there is “extreme concern” for London’s safety given “the nature of the child’s disappearance.” An Aug. 6 X post from the police department listed London as “MISSING/ENDANGERED” and included a photograph of her from before she went missing.

Rowland was charged with one count of enabling child abuse. Denton faces nine felony counts including six for child abuse, one for forcible sodomy, one for lewd or indecent acts to a child, and one for pattern criminal offenses.
