COVID Narratives Get Blown Apart on the Official White House Website [WATCH]

The White House on Friday published an official update to its website identifying a lab-related incident in China as the most likely origin of COVID-19, marking a significant shift in the federal government’s position on the beginnings of the global pandemic.

The newly released information disputes earlier assertions that the virus emerged naturally from animal-to-human transmission at a wet market in Wuhan, China.

The administration’s updated guidance attributes the outbreak to gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) and outlines evidence supporting the lab leak theory.

“The Proximal Origin of SARS-CoV-2” — a paper widely cited by public health officials and media outlets in early 2020 to support the natural origin theory — was “prompted by Dr. Fauci to push the preferred narrative that COVID-19 originated naturally,” according to the new White House webpage.

The site outlines scientific and circumstantial evidence supporting the lab-origin conclusion.

“The virus possesses a biological characteristic that is not found in nature,” the document states.

It also notes that “data shows that all COVID-19 cases stem from a single introduction into humans,” a pattern inconsistent with previous pandemics, which typically involve multiple spillover events from animals to humans.

The White House notes the proximity of the WIV to the Huanan Seafood Market — once thought to be the virus’s point of origin — is just 7.5 miles.

It also states that researchers at the Wuhan Institute were reportedly experiencing COVID-like symptoms in the fall of 2019, several months before the outbreak was officially identified.

The administration document asserts that “a lab-related incident involving gain-of-function research is the most likely … origin of COVID-19,” and adds that “current government mechanisms for overseeing this dangerous gain-of-function research are incomplete, severely convoluted, and lack global applicability.”

According to the White House, U.S. taxpayer dollars helped fund the controversial research at the WIV.

The update singles out EcoHealth Alliance, a U.S.-based nonprofit organization led by Dr. Peter Daszak, claiming it “used U.S. taxpayer dollars to facilitate dangerous gain-of-function research in Wuhan, China.”

Following the release of evidence by the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic that EcoHealth violated the terms of its National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) launched formal debarment proceedings and suspended all funding to the organization.

The Justice Department has opened an investigation into EcoHealth’s pandemic-era activities.

The Trump administration further accuses HHS — under the leadership of the Biden-Harris administration — of obstructing oversight efforts, stating that the department “engaged in a multi-year campaign of delay, confusion, and non-responsiveness in an attempt to obstruct the Select Subcommittee’s investigation and hide evidence that could incriminate or embarrass senior public health officials.”

Dr. Daszak is also accused of “obstructing the Select Subcommittee’s investigation by providing publicly available information, instructing his staff to reduce the scope and pace of productions, and doctoring documents before releasing them to the public.”

The White House states that Daszak “provided false statements to Congress.”

The administration’s report also accuses Dr. David Morens, a senior advisor to Dr. Anthony Fauci, of interfering in investigations and coordinating efforts to manipulate official records.

Additionally, the document targets New York’s Executive Chamber for its role in limiting transparency regarding the pandemic’s response.

The World Health Organization (WHO) is sharply criticized as well, with the White House saying the organization “was an abject failure because it caved to pressure from the Chinese Communist Party and placed China’s political interests ahead of its international duties.”

The updated report also reexamines public health measures implemented during the pandemic, stating that “social distancing was arbitrary and not based on science.”

It adds that “there was no conclusive evidence that masks effectively protected Americans from COVID-19,” and public health authorities “flip-flopped on the efficacy of masks without providing Americans scientific data – causing a massive uptick in public distrust.”

The White House’s updated position marks a notable endorsement of claims that were once dismissed as conspiracy theories and reflects ongoing scrutiny into the origins and global response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
