The Dallas Cowboys won’t have their star cornerback Trevon Diggs for Sunday’s game taking on the Washington Commanders following an accident at his house Thursday. Diggs has been placed in concussion protocol.
Brian Schottenheimer, the head coach of the Cowboys, didn’t go into the details regarding what exactly took place, however, Diggs was evaluated Friday by team doctors. (RELATED: Idiotic NFL Fans Brawl It Out To Absolutely Perfect Song Blasting In Background)
“This is the NFL and if you’re unsure what’s going to happen just wait because something is going to happen,” said Schottenheimer, per ESPN. “And you deal with it, and you don’t lose sleep over it. The biggest thing is just the concern for Trevon that he’s OK. But seems like he is.”
Diggs has been a starter in every contest after being on the physically unable to perform list throughout training camp, which was a result of left knee surgery in January. Over the past few weeks, he has been dealing with an injury to his right knee. Diggs has put up 20 tackles, two pass deflections and one tackle for loss this season.

Replacing Diggs, the Cowboys have Kaiir Elam to be on the opposite of DaRon Bland, however, it’s expected that they will play Caelen Carson after they activate him from injured reserve (knee). With that being the case, Carson will make his season debut.
“It doesn’t change,” said Schottenheimer via ESPN. “We adjust always when you get into game day, but it doesn’t change. It’s a good plan. I like the plan. We have to go out and execute the plan. It’s going to come down to us going out and playing well against a really good Commanders offense.”
