Well, I feel robbed.
When it comes to racing careers, not many drivers did or are going to do better than the legendary Dale Earnhardt Jr., but even the two-time Daytona 500 winner has some regrets. (Don’t we all?)
Taking part in an interview with “SPEED with Harvick and Buxton” on Fox Sports, which is hosted by another NASCAR legend in Kevin Harvick and Fox IndyCar announcer Will Buxton, Jr. received a question regarding if he had any regrets when it comes to something that he didn’t do while driving. “IndyCar,” said Earnhardt Jr. “I’ve had some chances to just run laps at [Indianapolis Motor Speedway] in a car, and I should’ve. And I always kind of wondered what that would feel like, and just saying that now, I’m probably going to get another couple of offers, but that ship has sailed.
“I wish I would’ve done that, really, because when I was younger, in my 30s, I had some opportunities just to go feel it. Not really go race. I don’t need to go race, but I just really would love to know what that car feels like going around such a historic racetrack.”
WATCH:
Yeah, we definitely all got robbed. I remember being a kid and thinking it was so epic that some drivers could whip it in a NASCAR Cup car just hours after doing their thing in an IndyCar. Little did I know at the time that I was being robbed of Jr. out of all people doing that.
Honestly, I could have gone without knowing this information, what a huge tease.
