Reflecting on the impact Charlie Kirk’s assassination had on his children and “a lot of kids,” UFC president Dana White expressed what he hoped might follow the tragedy.
“All I’m looking for over the rest of this year and into next year is …”
Since the Christian patriot was fatally shot during his The American Comeback Tour event at Utah Valley University, many have come to mark the young husband and father’s assassination as this generation’s equivalent of the assassination of civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr.
Now, while working with the White House to bring a championship fight to the South Lawn as part of America’s 250th Anniversary, White joined Fox News’ “Special Report” on Friday, where he spoke of his hope to see “unity” and “normalcy” return to the country.
Anchor Bret Baier referenced some of the UFC CEO’s comments on Logan Paul’s “Impaulsive” podcast when asking about “where we are as a country now,” that found White responding, “Things started to feel better and get normal again, and then that happened, and it’s almost like, you know, it’s all starting over again.”
“… not just my daughter, a lot of kids were impacted by this, kids who loved and respected Charlie, and it’s just, it’s kinda hard to wrap your brain around when something like this happens,” he continued. “All I’m looking for over the rest of this year and into next year is some unity, coming back together as a country and stop all the in-fighting and the finger-pointing … just some normalcy again. Let this country get back to normal.”

Prior to appearing on “Special Report,” White had sat down with Paul and remarked that he was only just waking up when the news began to circulate that Kirk had been shot, “I just woke up, and my phone was blowing up … I was f*cking blown away.”
He’d gone on to address the impact that it had on his family, and in particular his college-aged daughter, as he said, “I was actually surprised by how impacted my kids were. My kids used to watch him on social media. My daughter, she’s 19, she’s in college, and she’s been just destroyed over this thing for the last couple days. You have to feel horrible for his family. It’s f*cking crazy.”
White’s comments come ahead of Sunday’s planned memorial to honor Kirk at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, where remarks will be made by many distinguished guests, including President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and widow, Erika Kirk, recently named as the new CEO of Turning Point USA via unanimous vote.
Meanwhile, work was well underway by the UFC president to help create something for Americans to unite around as he revealed early renderings of what the White House UFC championship fight would look like, with a combined total of around 90,000 viewers split between 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and The Ellipse.
