Daniel Dye, Who Used Gay Voice To Mock IndyCar Racer David Malukas, Reinstated By NASCAR — But There’s A Catch

He’s baaaccckkkk! But there’s just one problem.

Daniel Dye, a driver in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, has been reinstated by the auto racing sanctioning and operating company following the 21-year-old being suspended for mocking IndyCar driver David Malukas with a gay voice.

But here’s the thing: He doesn’t have a team right now.

According to a report Tuesday from The Athletic, NASCAR has reinstated Dye, with the ruling being effective immediately. With that being said, Dye took to Twitter to announce that he will no longer be a part of Kaulig Racing, who also suspended Dye for mocking Malukas.

“I’m incredibly thankful for my time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and for the chance to compete with Kaulig Racing alongside some of the most passionate fans in motorsports. At this time, I am stepping away from that role,” wrote Dye.

“After a lot of honest self-reflection and guidance from mentors I trust, I’ve decided the smartest move for my career is to realign my focus on my long-term objective of becoming a successful driver at the highest level of stock car racing,” continued the NASCAR driver. “Now that I’m reinstated, I’m optimistic about what the future holds and look forward to working hard at my next opportunity.”

Dye mocked Malukas while livestreaming on the app Whatnot opening packs of trading cards.
