Daniel Moody, son of the late WWE Hall of Famer Paul Bearer, died tragically March 23 at the age of 39.
His death was confirmed Wednesday in a Facebook post shared by Book Pro Wrestlers representative Steve Stasiak.
“Daniel Moody, known to many in wrestling as DJ Pringle, has passed away,” he said. “Daniel was the son of Paul Bearer — a man whose voice, presence, and character became part of wrestling history forever. And like so many second-generation names, Daniel carried that connection with him, while also being his own person in the wrestling world.”
A GoFundMe page was established prior to Moody’s death, noting that he “went in the hospital, on November 7th of last year for a procedure and suffered a major health crisis and is now in long term care.” The page was later updated with news of his passing.
Stasiak paid tribute to Moody with a heartfelt message.
“For those who met him, worked with him, or simply followed along over the years, this one hits on a different level. There’s history there. There’s family there. And there’s a bond to the business that never really leaves,” he said. (RELATED: Conor McGregor Announces Return To The Ring)
“Moments like this remind you how small the wrestling world really is… and how deep those roots go.”
The crowdfunding page was initially launched to help Moody’s family pay for his medical bills, with a goal of $4,500 set for his care. An update was shared on the site, noting that donations will be directed toward funeral costs.
Daniel’s famous father died of a heart attack in 2013, and he lost his mother Dianna in 2009. His older brother, Michael, died in 2014, according to AL.
