The Home Office has started tendering for new asylum accommodation contracts running from 2029 to 2036, with an option to extend to 2039. Asked four times on Sky News if that covered asylum hotels, Pollard said he didn’t know:
“That’s a matter for the Home Office, I don’t know. Forgive me I don’t know the details. I’m not gonna make an answer up that I don’t know the answer to.”
