Rep. Crockett recently appeared on CNN host Jim Acosta’s podcast, where she made a number of comments that drew attention and raised eyebrows.

During their conversation, Acosta expressed concern over potential arrests of Democrat lawmakers who, in his words, are “more outspoken in the House.”

The implication was that legal action might stem from political retaliation rather than any alleged wrongdoing.

Crockett echoed that concern, suggesting that she personally could be a target.

She claimed that President Donald Trump frequently references her, implying this puts a target on her back.

“I think that he’s listening to the polling,” Crockett said.

She went on to claim that Republicans have approached her in public and expressed admiration for her.

According to Crockett, some Republicans have told her they may not agree with her on issues but respect her willingness to fight.

“It’s not just Black people listening to me, or super liberal folks,” Crockett said.

“People who aren’t even Democrats are listening to me.”

Some online observers suggested that her comments could stem from social media users on X who, often sarcastically, encourage Crockett as a way to keep her public profile elevated — something many conservatives see as politically beneficial to their own side.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) responded to Crockett’s comments by mocking the idea that Republicans genuinely support her.

Greene shared a post reacting to Crockett’s appearance, laughing at the notion and referencing the online trend of conservatives amplifying voices like Crockett’s as a form of satire.

Crockett has also made clear she has ambitions to chair the House Oversight Committee should Democrats regain control of the chamber.

She stated she would pursue investigations into former President Trump if granted that position.
