A former member of Hillary Clinton’s campaign-finance team told Fox News host Harris Faulkner Monday that he would be “very sad” if Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani of New York City won, calling him “antisemitic.”
Mamdani secured the Democratic nomination in the June 24 primary, beating out former Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo of New York. Al Motter told Faulkner on “The Faulkner Focus” that while Mamdani had focused on cost of living in the city, he also seemed naïve and was “antisemitic.”
“A looming political thing is the cost of housing. He focused on that,” Motter told Faulkner. “Let there be no mistake, this guy is antisemitic. I would be very sad if he won the race for mayor in New York.”
“I would also note he has said violence is an artificial construct. He has never been hit in the face, I guess,” Motter continued. It is not artificial when someone commits crime on your family or assaults you or your loved ones. I think back to the time we had the riots in the summer several years ago and so many Democrats wanted to defund the police and it got us nowhere. I fear we’re going in that direction.”

During an interview with “Meet the Press” host Kristen Welker Sunday, Mamdani refused to condemn the use of the phrase “globalize the intifada” on multiple occasions. Mamdani also said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would be arrested if he came to New York City, and defended the boycott, divest and sanction (BDS) movement.
“He is basically saying everything should be free, let’s abolish the police, we’ll abolish medical bills, we’ll abolish private health insurance and we’ll abolish Israel,” former Republican Senate candidate Tiffany Smiley told Faulkner. “He is the most extreme Democrat candidate in our nation’s history full stop. I think it’s interesting, Harris, to look at this because Democrats in Congress are literally running from Mamdani.”
“Unfortunately, moderate Democrats today have no home in the Democrat Party of today. The Democrat Party of today is communism, antisemitic and just completely radical out of touch policies,” Smiley added.
Mamdani called for increasing taxes on predominantly white neighborhoods of New York during his campaign to win the Democratic Party’s nomination to challenge Democratic Mayor Eric Adams of New York City.
“You and Al Motter are saying similar things which makes me wonder if Al Motter has a home and it is a rhetorical question for now, but it is becoming a reality question,” Faulkner said. “You know, it’s interesting, it’s almost like Democrats want to save the wolf to sacrifice the sheep. I’ve never seen anything quite like what we’re seeing in New York now.”
