Democrats on the House Oversight Committee released photos and videos showing the villa of late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein on Wednesday.
The 10 photos and four videos show bedrooms, bathrooms, a study, a courtyard, a swimming pool and the exterior of a residence Epstein had on the island of Little St. James in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
He owned the residence until his death in 2019.
“These new images are a disturbing look into the world of Jeffrey Epstein and his island. We are releasing these photos and videos to ensure public transparency in our investigation and to help piece together the full picture of Epstein’s horrific crimes,” said Rep. Robert Garcia, California Democrat and ranking member on the committee.
“We won’t stop fighting until we deliver justice for the survivors. It’s time for President Trump to release all the files, now,” Mr. Garcia said.
Though the Democrats on the House Oversight Committee say the footage is brand-new, others disagree.
James O’Keefe III, formerly of Project Veritas, claimed on X that his new operation was the first to disclose the photos back in May, writing “We’re going to be asking @oversightDems for a retraction.”
Quoting Mr. O’Keefe’s post, the Republicans on the committee said on X that their Democrat counterparts were “chasing headlines.”
They called the photos and videos “cherry-picked” and said the committee’s Democrats are “not serious about this investigation.”
In addition to the photos posted and videos, the committee’s Democrats also said they received Epstein-related records from J.P. Morgan and Deutsche Bank.
More Epstein-related material could be on the way.
The Justice Department is required by the Epstein Files Transparency Act to release the corpus of documents and files related to him and his dealings by Dec. 19, according to The Associated Press.
