Dems Stay Silent as Jewish Americans Face Domestic Terrors [WATCH]

A string of violent attacks targeting Jewish individuals and pro-Israel gatherings in the United States has drawn renewed focus on rising antisemitism and concerns about political silence surrounding the issue.

According to a recent report from the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), antisemitic incidents in the U.S. have surged by 893% over the last decade, jumping from 942 reported incidents in 2015 to 9,354 in 2024.

In the span of less than two weeks, three separate incidents—an arson attack in Pennsylvania, a fatal shooting in Washington, D.C., and a firebombing in Boulder, Colorado—have resulted in injuries and deaths, all reportedly driven by anti-Israel motives.

The trend, according to the ADL and federal authorities, reflects a growing concern about antisemitism originating from fringe factions, particularly among pro-Palestinian activist circles.

Governor’s Residence Targeted in Arson

On April 13, 2025, 38-year-old Cody Balmer was arrested for setting fire to the Pennsylvania Governor’s Residence while Governor Josh Shapiro and his family were asleep inside.

Authorities say Balmer used homemade Molotov cocktails and confessed to the attack. No one was injured, but the fire caused substantial damage to the historic residence.

According to police, Balmer told 911 operators after the attack that he was disturbed by Governor Shapiro’s position on the Israel-Gaza conflict and expressed specific animosity related to the governor’s Jewish faith.

Charges against Balmer include attempted murder, terrorism, and aggravated arson.

Israeli Embassy Staff Murdered in Washington, D.C.

On May 21, 2025, two staffers from the Israeli Embassy, 30-year-old Yaron Lischinsky and 26-year-old Sarah Lynn Milgrim, were shot and killed outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., after attending an American Jewish Committee event focused on peace initiatives in the Middle East.

Authorities say the shooter, Elias Rodriguez, 31, of Chicago, used a 9mm handgun and reloaded multiple times during the attack. Surveillance footage shows Rodriguez firing repeatedly before entering the museum, where he was mistakenly treated as a bystander until he confessed.

He reportedly shouted “Free Palestine” and told police, “I did it for Palestine, I did it for Gaza.”

Boulder Rally Firebombed

On June 1, 2025, in Boulder, Colorado, Mohamed Sabry Soliman threw Molotov cocktails at a pro-Israel rally, injuring several people.

According to an affidavit from the FBI, Soliman told investigators he wished to “kill all Zionist people” and “wished they were all dead.”

He reportedly shouted “Free Palestine” during the attack.

Reuters reported that Soliman spent over a year planning the attack. He had overstayed a tourist visa and was in the country illegally after his Biden-era work permit expired.

Todd Lyons, acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, confirmed Soliman’s immigration status.

Political Silence and Divisions

While Republicans and some Democrats have condemned the attacks, key members of the progressive wing of the Democratic Party have come under scrutiny for delayed or limited responses.

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), who has faced criticism in the past for statements on Israel, did not immediately address the embassy shooting.

The next day, she posted on X: “I am appalled by the deadly shooting at the Capital Jewish Museum last night. Holding the victims, their families, and loved ones in my thoughts and prayers. Violence should have no place in our country.”

Omar, along with Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Cori Bush (D-MO), opposed House Resolution 1449 in 2024, which called on countries to take stronger stances against antisemitism.

In 2023, Tlaib was censured by the House after she was recorded chanting “From the river to the sea” at a pro-Palestinian rally—a phrase widely interpreted as calling for the elimination of the state of Israel.

Maher: Democrats “Doomed” If Silence Continues

Prominent liberal commentator Bill Maher addressed the issue during his May 9 monologue on HBO’s Real Time, warning that the Democratic Party risks alienating voters by failing to confront radicalism within its ranks.

“At an AOC Bernie Sanders rally in Idaho last month, someone threw a Palestinian flag over an American flag, and the crowd erupted in approval,” Maher said.

“What should have happened after that is one of the adults on stage should have told their young loyal followers, this is not a symbol of freedom. This is,” he added, holding up an image of the American flag.

Maher concluded by warning that “if the thought leaders in the Democratic Party keep encouraging and not rebuking the idea that America is cringe and the people who run Gaza are great, the Democrats are doomed.”
