Disney boss reportedly told ‘The View’ harpies to dial it down on politics

There could be trouble brewing at “The View” with it being reported that Disney CEO Bob Iger wants the ladies to dial down the political rhetoric, which has been some of the most dishonest and incendiary on the broadcast airwaves.

If anyone really believed that President Donald J. Trump’s decisive victory over Kamala Harris in last year’s election would humble the harpies, they were sadly mistaken with longtime co-hosts Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin continuing to serve up their toxic brew of hatred, ignorance and race-baiting to the loyal, largely female audience of the long-running ABC daytime gabfest.

But the big boss and ABC News President Almin Karamehmedovic are evidently not thrilled with the constant focus on promoting divisiveness on the show which is a snake pit of Trump haters with all six of the regular co-hosts, including token “conservative” chew toy Alyssa Farah Griffin, being vicious critics of a president who ran the table in all of the swing states and won the popular vote as well.

Iger and Karamehmedovic have urged the ladies at the table to shift their focus away from politics and onto other topics, the left-wing Daily Beast reported.

According to the outlet: “Karamehmedovic convened a meeting with The View‘s executive producer Brian Teta and its hosts, and suggested the panel needed to broaden its conversations beyond its predominant focus on politics, two sources familiar with the meeting said.”

“Karamehmedovic highlighted episodes with celebrity guests that he said were highly rated, one source said, and encouraged them to lean into such coverage moving forward,” the Daily Beast reported.

The request didn’t sit well with the co-hosts who “forcefully pushed back” with co-host Ana Navarro insisting that toxic Trump hate is what the show’s viewers want and took her message directly to the top, sucking up to Iger whom she thanked for allowing them to do their jobs even though the Disney chief “reaffirmed that the show needed to tone down its political rhetoric” but expressed his support for the show.

Fox News Digital cited an unnamed source from “The View” who confirmed the discussions while suggesting that not all of the co-hosts are in agreement with the fiery plus-sized Latina.

“Most hosts agree with the ABC top brass,” the source told the outlet. “‘The View’ is a daytime network talk show and needs to do more than just politics and Trump bashing. This was a welcome direction for many of us.”

The source was asked whether the show could shift to less overtly political topics for Trump’s second presidency and responded,  “It’s hard to say,” adding that “Ignoring Bob Iger seems like a terrible decision.”

In December, ABC News settled a lawsuit with Trump after George Stephanopoulos defamed him by claiming that he was “found liable for rape” in the E. Jean Carroll case, having to pony up $15 million for Trump’s presidential library, another $1 million in attorney fees and an apology from the network’s star anchor.

The co-hosts of “The View” have also had to suffer the humiliation of being made to read legal notes on air after their smears of some of Trump’s nominees.

However, one of the Daily Beast’s sources dismissed any suggestions of a rift between the ladies and the bosses, telling the outlet that it’s normal for management to “constantly have conversations with talent based on viewer feedback,” and that the feedback from Iger and Karamehmedovic is “no different.”
