For the floundering Democrat Party, 2025 has turned out to be one crazy summer. Between the unhinged rhetoric coming out of the Democratic National Committee’s summer meeting and radical leftist Zohran Mamdani’s socialist charge to become the next mayor of New York City, it’s all good news for President Donald Trump and the GOP as they continue to dominate the commonsense lane in our political landscape.
The alarming takeaway from the DNC’s confab was obvious. Democrats have learned absolutely nothing from the horrendous failures of the Biden-Harris Administration or their disastrous performance in the 2024 presidential election campaign. In Minneapolis, party leaders on the left gleefully doubled down on many of the same unpopular and deranged issues that helped propel President Trump back to the Oval Office.
Throughout the week, we heard from Democrats that America is fundamentally a bad place; we heard braggadocios rants about lawsuits in support of gender reassignment surgery; we heard top speakers telling their faithful that migrant crime and carjackings “actually don’t matter to that many Americans;” we saw a unanimous vote in support of divisive and counterproductive DEI policies; and we witnessed the chairman of the party liken our politics to a knife fight, even in the wake of two assassination attempts on President Trump’s life last year.
DNC Chairman Ken Martin went on to say that “we cannot be the only party that plays by the rules anymore.” These tone-deaf words epitomize the arrogance of a party in collapse that is incapable of a course correction or admitting it did anything wrong. After all, concocting the Russia collusion hoax wasn’t playing by the rules; weaponizing the Department of Justice wasn’t playing by the rules; raiding President Trump’s home wasn’t playing by the rules; deliberately green-lighting the border invasion wasn’t playing by the rules; and illegally forgiving billions in student loans wasn’t playing by the rules. Living in denial is not a viable path forward for the Democrat Party – just look at their abysmal voter registration and fundraising performances.
Meanwhile, as President Trump makes America great again through popular policies like fighting crime, border security, and tax relief, Zohran Mamdani, the Democrat’s socialist nominee for New York City Mayor, is hellbent on transforming the Big Apple into Moscow on the Hudson. The contrast between GOP standard-bearer Trump and the Democrats’ emerging national leader could not be clearer. First and foremost, the president believes in pro-growth economic policies that allow every American to keep more of their hard-earned money and make their own decisions about how best to spend, invest, or save for their families. Mamdani, on the other hand, wants to raise taxes, put the government in control of virtually every aspect of life, and then dishonestly say that it’s all “free,” ala Vladimir Lenin. If Mamdani is elected in November, don’t be surprised if Democrats coalesce around this communist economic message nationally for the 2026 midterms.
To confront high crime, Trump believes in law and order to make our streets safe. Mamdani, by comparison, was a recent vocal supporter of defunding the police and is now ready to go back to making it impossible for police to do their jobs to keep law-abiding people safe.
And it goes without saying that Mamdani would work in coordination with national Democrats to fight ICE deportations, make New York City a sanctuary city on steroids, and always prioritize illegal immigrants over citizens – the mirror opposite of Trumpian America First policies. In short, Donald Trump believes New York City is one of the greatest cities the world has ever known, and Mamdani wants to turn it into something unrecognizable – and un-American. There’s only one way to say it: What Mamdani is proposing is an affront to the free market democratic traditions that have made New York the envy of the world for 100 years.
Historically, New York is known as the epicenter of capitalism in the world and a destination where legal immigrants flocked to pursue the American Dream. In Mamdani’s New York, the American Dream will die of asphyxiation. When President Ronald Reagan said, “as government expands, liberty contracts,” he was warning us about the likes of Zohran Mamdani. Call him what you want – Democratic Socialist, Socialist, or Communist – it all boils down to the same thing: a failed state and bleak future. This is exactly where the Democrat Party is heading.
Mamdani’s platform won’t make New York City more affordable by any stretch of the imagination. When he says New York needs “better distribution of wealth,” he’s saying let the government take your money away from you and let the state decide how to spend it. Let that sink in for a minute. When failed former New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio recently stated, “If Democrats talked the way Zohran Mamdani does about everyday affordability and the cost of living…Democrats would be winning all over the country,” he wasn’t kidding. Democrats are desperate, and desperate politicians who are out of fresh ideas will always revert to repackaging the same rotten left-wing garbage the world has been rejecting for the past 50 years.
So, what specifically is Mamdani proposing to do to make life more affordable in New York? Like all leftists, it starts with massive tax increases on businesses and whoever they deem “the rich.” But make no mistake about it, the only way to pay for Mamdani’s costly agenda is to overtax everyone who works for a living. Mamdani’s socialist mirage consists of “no cost childcare,” “free buses,” and “city-owned grocery stores.” This may sound grand, but history has demonstrated it leads to breadlines, unreliable and unsafe public transportation, and substandard care for your children, which will be run about as inefficiently as, well, any other government program. If you’ve read about the horror stories of socialized medicine, just wait for the nightmare that is socialized childcare. If that’s not enough, just wait until Mamdani decriminalizes prostitution and implements a $30 minimum wage. This would shutter small businesses throughout the city and kill the tourism industry.
Many of us have heard about – or witnessed – the lie that is Marxism-Leninism before. But tragically, a generation of young people is purposefully not being taught about the dangers of socialism that history has repeatedly warned us about. This is what gives the Zohran Mamdani’s of the world oxygen. The socialist experiment failed in the Soviet Union, Venezuela, Cuba, and everywhere else because human beings don’t like being oppressed. There are no classes called “Communist Success Stories” or “How Socialism Leads To Prosperity.”
Zohran Mamdani and the radicalized Democratic National Committee are determined to take their failed ideology off the ash heap of history for another crash and burn mission. However, President Trump and his common-sense American First agenda will prevail in 2026 and beyond.
