The Department of Justice (DOJ) released a new tranche of Epstein-related files that include claims involving President Donald Trump it described as “untrue and sensationalist.”
The DOJ announced the release of nearly 30,000 additional documents related to the late registered sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in a post online. However, the department said some of the records contain false and exaggerated claims against President Donald Trump.
“Some of these documents contain untrue and sensationalist claims made against President Trump that were submitted to the FBI right before the 2020 election,” the DOJ wrote. “To be clear: the claims are unfounded and false, and if they had a shred of credibility, they certainly would have been weaponized against President Trump already.”

The Epstein files available on the DOJ website are the latest release and follow several earlier rollouts by the department. (RELATED: DOJ Turns Over Epstein Documents To House Oversight)
Lawmakers have accused the department of flouting the law that prompted the records’ release. The DOJ said in a previous post on X that additional documents will be made public but noted it must first review hundreds of thousands of pages in “an arduous process.”
In a 2020 email, a federal prosecutor claimed Trump “traveled on Epstein’s private jet many more times than previously has been reported,” citing at least eight flights between 1993 and 1996.
One trip included only three passengers — Trump, Epstein and a 20-year-old whose name was redacted, according to the email. Trump was allegedly also listed on other flights alongside his then-wife Marla Maples and two of his children, Tiffany and Eric.
“On two other flights, two of the passengers, respectively, were women who would be possible witnesses in a Maxwell case,” the email alleged.
The latest document release shows that Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club was subpoenaed in 2021 as part of the case against Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell. The subpoena directed the club to turn over “[a]ny and all employment records relating to” an individual whose name was redacted, according to the document.

The files also include a letter allegedly signed “J. Epstein” and addressed to convicted sexual abuser Larry Nassar. While the alleged letter is dated before Epstein’s death on Aug. 10, 2019, an image released by the DOJ appears to show it was postmarked Aug. 13, 2019 — three days after his death.
The DOJ first posted Tuesday on X that it was examining the alleged letter’s “veracity.” However, the department said it was fake in a subsequent post.
“The fake letter was received by the jail, and flagged for the FBI at the time,” the DOJ wrote, saying the FBI determined that the writing does not seem to match Epstein’s and the document was postmarked three days after Epstein died.
“The return address did not list the jail where Epstein was held and did not include his inmate number, which is required for outgoing mail,” the department continued.
The DOJ said the envelope was postmarked in Virginia — not New York, where Epstein was jailed at the time. The return address listed the wrong facility and omitted his inmate number, which is required for outgoing mail, according to the department.
Epstein allegedly wrote in the letter that the two men “shared one thing … our love & caring for young ladies and the hope they reach their full potential.”
The letter allegedly said, “Our president also shares our love of young, nubile girls. When a young beauty walked by he loved to ‘grab snatch,’ whereas we ended up snatching grub in the mess halls of the system.”
The newest release comes after the Trump administration missed a statutory Friday deadline to release all government records related to Epstein. (RELATED: Trump Administration Misses Deadline To Release All Epstein Files)

The Justice Department was required to disclose the files by 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 19 under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which Trump signed into law on Nov. 19. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said the DOJ has begun releasing Epstein-related materials but will continue publishing additional records on a rolling basis as reviews continue and victim protections are applied.
