Donald Trump Deploys FBI Agents to Assist ICE in Nationwide Illegal Alien Crackdown [WATCH]

FBI leadership has directed field offices across the country to reassign a significant number of agents to assist with immigration enforcement efforts in coordination with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), according to internal memos circulated this week.

The move comes as part of a broader shift in federal priorities under the Trump administration.

According to NBC News, the FBI is de-emphasizing certain investigations—including those into white collar and corporate crimes—in favor of increased support for immigration operations.

Internal communications reviewed by the outlet indicate that the Bureau intends for 45 percent of its agents to take on full-time roles in immigration enforcement.

The goal is to have up to 2,000 FBI agents actively involved in operations supporting ICE.

“As you know, we have been actively engaged in immigration enforcement efforts in coordination with our DOJ and DHS partners,” one of the memos stated.

“Starting this week, we will need to see an increase in operational tempo in your immigration efforts. DOJ expects a significant increase in the number of agents participating in immigration enforcement operations.”

FBI spokesman Ben Williamson confirmed the agency’s position in a statement: “The FBI has been committed to supporting our partners in immigration enforcement and will remain so.”

The decision follows a series of actions taken by the Trump administration to mobilize federal agencies in support of stricter immigration policies.

In February, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced plans to involve the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in immigration enforcement activities.

A federal judge recently ruled in favor of the administration’s efforts, authorizing the IRS to assist in locating individuals in the country illegally by using tax data.

In addition to the FBI and IRS, several other agencies have been engaged in immigration-related efforts, including the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Department of Justice (DOJ), and the Department of State (DOS).

The federal effort is further reinforced by cooperation with state and local authorities.

Through the long-standing 287(g) program, hundreds of state and local law enforcement agencies are authorized to work alongside ICE in identifying and detaining individuals who are unlawfully present in the United States.

To date, at least 450 state and local agencies have signed agreements under the 287(g) program and are actively aiding federal immigration enforcement efforts.

The increased role of federal and local agencies in enforcing immigration law is a key part of President Trump’s broader immigration agenda.

The administration has called for an “all-hands-on-deck” approach to border security and interior enforcement, particularly amid concerns over illegal crossings and overstayed visas.

The FBI’s reassignment of agents represents a substantial operational shift for the bureau, which traditionally focuses on a broad range of criminal investigations including public corruption, organized crime, cyber threats, and terrorism.

With a sizable portion of its workforce now redirected toward immigration enforcement, the Bureau will take on a more prominent role in identifying, locating, and assisting with the detention of individuals residing in the U.S. unlawfully.

The shift is expected to take effect immediately, with field offices instructed to implement the changes beginning this week.

It remains to be seen how the reallocation of FBI resources will impact other areas of the bureau’s traditional mission scope.
