Donald Trump Orders U.S. Nuclear Submarines to be Repositioned After Medvedev’s Warning [WATCH]

President Donald Trump announced Friday that he has directed two U.S. nuclear submarines to reposition following what he described as “highly provocative statements” made by former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, as reported by Fox News.

The move comes amid escalating tensions surrounding the ongoing war in Ukraine and Trump’s latest ultimatum for Moscow to pursue peace.

In a statement posted to Truth Social, President Trump wrote:

Trump’s Sovereign Wealth Fund: What Could It Mean For Your Money?

“Based on the highly provocative statements of the Former President of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, who is now the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, I have ordered two Nuclear Submarines to be positioned in the appropriate regions, just in case these foolish and inflammatory statements are more than just that.”

“Words are very important, and can often lead to unintended consequences, I hope this will not be one of those instances,” he added.

The Russian government did not immediately respond to the repositioning announcement, and the Russian Foreign Ministry declined to comment when contacted by Fox News Digital.

Earlier in the week, Medvedev criticized Trump’s newly issued deadline for ending the Russia-Ukraine conflict, calling it a dangerous provocation. I

n a post on X, Medvedev wrote:

“Trump’s playing the ultimatum game with Russia: 50 days or 10… He should remember 2 things: 1. Russia isn’t Israel or even Iran. 2. Each new ultimatum is a threat and a step towards war. Not between Russia and Ukraine, but with his own country. Don’t go down the Sleepy Joe road!”

Trump initially announced a 50-day deadline on July 14, threatening “severe tariffs” against Russia if it failed to reach a peace agreement. However, on Monday, he revised that timeframe, citing a lack of progress in negotiations.

“There’s no reason for waiting. It was 50 days. I wanted to be generous, but we just don’t see any progress being made,” Trump said during remarks in Scotland. “I’m going to make a new deadline, of about 10 — 10 or 12 days from today.”

The announcement followed a large-scale Russian drone and missile assault on Ukrainian cities. According to Ukraine’s air force, Russia launched over 300 drones, four cruise missiles, and three ballistic missiles into Ukraine just one day prior.

In a separate post Friday, Trump also shared updated casualty estimates:

“I have just been informed that almost 20,000 Russian soldiers died this month in the ridiculous War with Ukraine. Russia has lost 112,500 soldiers since the beginning of the year. That is a lot of unnecessary DEATH!”

He continued:

“Ukraine, however, has also suffered greatly. They have lost approximately 8,000 soldiers since January 1, 2025, and that number does not include their missing. Ukraine has also lost civilians, but in smaller numbers, as Russian rockets crash into Kyiv, and other Ukrainian locales. This is a War that should have never happened — This is Biden’s War, not ‘TRUMP’s.’ I’m just here to see if I can stop it!”
